The History of Messilä Manor
Messilä’s name derives from Heyen Messissoni in the 1460s, who was the first resident of the village and a lay judge.
The current manor house was built in 1910. It has been renovated over the years according to the trends of the time and also the Messilä yard circle has been renovated. The most recent renovations to the manor house have been made in the 2020s. The barn was built in 1900 and nowadays it serves as the Market Restaurant, which can be reserved for events, conferences and celebrations all year round.
The old store houses in the yard circle were built in the 1920s and are now renovated and used as a part of Hotel Messilä’s accommodation. Hotel Messilä itself was completed at the turn of the 1960’s and 1970s and has served as a hotel building since then.The Bistro was built in 1982 and it used to be a horse stable, before it was renovated into a restaurant.
