An hour away from Helsinki is Messilä, is a skiing center for the whole family

Messilä is the largest skiing center in southern Finland and it is conveniently located only an hour away from Helsinki. Messilä has 11 slopes of varying difficulties, as well as Pikkukylä, a small haven for kids to enjoy. At Park Messilä and the Playground, freestylers can show off their skills and for beginner freestylers Pikku Parkki offers a safe place to practice their skills. 

Messilä ski center is located in Hollola, only a 15 minute drive from Lahti. The ski center is located on the old farmlands of Messilä manor and the old countryside buildings have been integrated into Messilä’s restaurants and accommodation. The old manor house of Messilä is now Messilä’s famous Manor restaurant.

Messilä offers a variety of services and activities to guests during the winter and summer seasons.

Messilä is a wonderful destination to spend a day on the slopes, or a minibreak over the weekend. Messilä has a variety of accommodation options from hotel rooms to log cottages The majority of Messilä’s accommodation is located in Messilä Manor’s yard circle, right next to the slopes themselves.

Messilä introduced the newly renovated Park Messilä and playground. Messilä ski center has 9 slopes of varying difficulty levels. During ski season 24/25 Messilä renovated our freestyle areas and the were redesigned and reopened to skiers and have gained increasing popularity. Messilä also hosts Pikkukylä a safe place for children to learn the basics of downhill skiing. Pikkukylä is also home to Messilä’s sledding area and close by is Pikku Parkki for everyone interested in practicing freestyle 

Messilä is also home to LHS Ski school, which providers skiers at Messilä with excellent downhill ski instruction for all skill levels. LHS Ski School also offers a variety of courses for skiers. For more information, see here.

Messilä Ski Center also has two restaurants and a cafe, all of which are conveniently accessible either in the Messilä yard circle or at the slopes. They are open during the opening hours of the ski center. Bistro offers everything from coffee to burgers and home-cooked food, while the Manor Restaurant serves pizza and pasta. The Laaso cafe is accessible from the Laaso slope and is a lovely place to sit down and enjoy a warm drink or a cold beer, whichever strikes your fancy.
