The Kartano and Pikkukylä slopes are mildly sloping and suitable for beginners. The Kartano slope is located conveniently in the Messilä yard circle and is easily accessible from both SkiMac and the LHS Ski School. Pikkukylä is located next to the Kartano slope. The Playground is rated as S/M and described as intermediate in difficulty level. It is located between the Kartano and Karhu slopes. The kartano slope has a T-bone lift and Pikkukylä has a convenient carpet lift.

Karhu slopes

The difficulty level of the Karhu slopes is intermediate. The Karhu slopes have T-bar lifts. Guests staying at Messilä’s log cabins can conveniently access the Karhu slopes directly from the log cabin village. The newly renovated Playground is located next to the Karhu slopes.

Laaso

Laaso’s difficulty level is easy. The Laaso slope is primarily open only on weekends and during the winter vacation season. The Laaso slope is accessible via a T-bar lift. Café Laaso is located at the bottom of the Laaso slope and is usually open, when the Laaso slope is. Café Laaso is a wonderful place to sit down and take a break on a sunny winter day.

Pikkukylä

Messilä’s Pikkukylä offers fun for the whole family. Pikkukylä is located close to the Messilä yard circle, right next to the Kartano slope.

The Pikkukylä area is divided into two sections. The right side is intended for beginner skiers and the left side is devoted to Pikku Parkki, a beginner friendly freestyle area. Pikku Parkki has two gently sloping hillocks and two children’s presses, which are a great place for beginner freestylers to practice jumps and tricks.

The right side of the Pikkukylä slope is intended for downhill sledding. The slope has signs that clearly show which side of the slope is intended for which activity. Pikkukylä has a carpet lift, which is easily accessible for small children skiing with parents. The area also has a carousel, where beginners can safely practice using a platter lift.

Pikkukylä also has a fire pit, where skiers can enjoy sausages over the fire.

All Messilä’s ski passes and season pass grant access to Pikkukylä as well. There is also a Pikkukylä only season pass. Children under six years old can enter Pikkukylä free of charge, but please not that they must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
