Every skier is responsible for their own safety and the safety of other skiers, when moving around the ski area.
Please read the following SHKY safety rules and ski slope rules of Messilä Ski Center below.
- Downhill skiing is only permitted with the same types of equipment that can be found at the Messilä Ski Rental Shop. This includes Alpine skis, snowboards, telemark- skis and blades. The ski lifts have been inspected for this equipment and follow the rules and regulations of Finnish officials.
- Equipment and safety instructions for adaptive skiing of the disabled: Mono-ski, Bi-ski, clider support (on the teaching slope).
- The so-called backpack skiing (child on the back of a skier) is forbidden in the Messilä slope areas.
- Snowscoots are not allowed on Messilä slopes due to safety regulations.
